FLOATING STORAGE UNIT (FSU)

A Floating Storage Regasification Unit (“FSRU”) is a LNG carrier with the onboard capability to re-gasify LNG into natural gas. A FSRU is an alternative to a land-based LNG terminal which

  • more cost-efficient (In most cases)
  • more flexible
A Floating Storage Unit (“FSU”) is a LNG carrier retrofitted for additional storage capacity. No share storage tanks required. We offer 2 solutions :

  • the Gas Port and the Gateway.
  • Geography and ocean conditions largely dictate which is the right choice for project

    DELIVERY AND TRANSFER

    LNG DELIVERY

    • LNG carriers moor alongside the FSRU to deliver cargoes
      • Compatible with the various LNG carriers
      • Partial loads accepted
    • FSRU discharges high-pressure natural gas to shore via pipeline
    • GasPort : Gas is discharged via high-pressure gas offloading arm
    • Gateway : Gas is discharged though a subsea buoy linked to a subsea pipeline

    STS TRANSFER

    • LNG is transferred to FSRU through our Ship-to-Ship (STS) Transfer of LNG Protocol
    • Continuous vaporization throughout cargo transfer
    • FSRU also capable of liquid discharge to LNG carrier for hub-and-spoke solutions, LNG bunkering and vehicle LNG loading facilities
